The Climate-ADAPT platform publishes a case study on the Nature-Based Solutions implemented by LIFE-myBUILDINGisGREEN at Gabriela Mistral primary school

The European Climate Adaptation Platform Climate-ADAPT aims to support Europe in adapting to climate change helping users to access and share data and information on different formats, such as publishing adaptation case studies and potential adaptation options.

One of the case studies published by the platform is Nature-Based Solutions in schools: a green way to adapt buildings to climate change in Solana de los Barros, Extremadura (Spain). This case study reviews the constructive project of implementation of Nature-Based Solutions that was implemented in the Gabriela Mistral primary school by the LIFE-myBUILDINGisGREEN project. The main challenges, objectives, adaptation options and solutions addressed in this construction project are shown. In addition, other information of interest for the case of this pilot building is included, such as the importance and relevance of the project for adaptation, the main stakeholders involved, success factors and constraints, as well as legal aspects and images of the implemented solutions.

The Climate-ADAPT Platform is a partnership between the European Commission and the European Environment Agency (EEA). Climate-ADAPT is maintained by the EEA with the support of the European Topic Centre on Climate Change Impacts, Vulnerability and Adaptation (ETC/CCA).

This first case study of the LIFE-myBUILDINGisGREEN project is available here.

After the implementation of the After-LIFE Plan, it is intended that the construction projects of the pilot buildings in Évora and Porto on which the LIFE-myBUILDINGisGREEN project has worked will also be available as case studies in Climate-ADAPT.
