“Financing Greener Cities was a capacity building event focused on strengthening the capacity of local authorities and technicians to make decisions on financing Nature-Based Solutions.

The event, which took place on 8-9 October 2019 in Athens, was an interactive workshop aimed at increasing the community development and capacity of participants to reach financing agreements targeting local biodiversity, ecosystem services and Nature-based Solutions interventions in response to local urban challenges. “Financing Greener Cities” was developed in close collaboration with ICLEI Europe, the Municipality of Athens, the EKLIPSE Facility and the NATURVATION project.

Some members of the LIFE-myBUILDINGisGREEN project had the opportunity to participate in the workshop to gather ideas for the development of the project and to share their own impressions on the subject. The event was also a great opportunity to establish contacts for future collaborations with entities from other European countries working on the LIFE-mBiG theme.
