Monitoring of Nature-Based Solutions at Falcão school, Porto

During the morning of 13 September 2023, members of the CARTIF Technology Centre carried out the monitoring of noise reduction, indoor air quality, indoor temperature and envelope temperature indicators of the pilot building in Porto where the LIFE-myBUILDINGisGREEN project implemented a series of Nature-Based Solutions (NBS). This sampling served to assess the impact of these NBS on the adaptation and mitigation of climate change of the building and the improvement of the air quality of its surroundings.

Using a thermographic camera, data was taken on the building envelope temperatures to compare the temperature difference between the installed green roofs and the existing sheet metal roofs.

To evaluate the reduction of noise levels from the outside, sound tests were carried out with a sound source, using a sound level meter to measure the noise levels inside the classrooms.

In addition, humidity, temperature and CO2 sensors have been installed inside the classrooms and outside to assess the impact on indoor and outdoor temperatures and indoor air quality.
