CIMAC presents the LIFE-mBiG project during the XIII International Seminar on Biodiversity Management and Conservation

In 2007 the University of Jaén (Spain) created a permanent International Seminar on “Management and Conservation of Biodiversity”, the 2019 edition of which took place from 2 to 7 June in the Vale do Lobo, in Loulé (Algarve, Portugal).

The seminar focused on “Landscape, vegetation and climate change” and aimed to discuss landscape and vegetation diversity, as well as the conservation of flora and vegetation and environmental issues related to climate change. The main topics addressed were:

  • The impact of climate change on vegetation and plant diversity;
  • Predicting changes in habitats and landscape due to anthropogenic actions or climate change;
  • Biodiversity conservation and management of threatened flora and habitats;
  • Conservation planning and global sustainability in the face of climate change: adaptation and mitigation.

The LIFE-myBUILDINGisGREEN project was presented in the context of the application of Nature-based Solutions, which consist of the application of indigenous plant species to improve environmental conditions in buildings with thermal insulation problems, as a way of adapting to climate change.
